August 28th

Hello Memorial Families!

Welcome back!  I hope that you all had a fantastic and relaxing summer vacation and are ready for a great year.  On behalf of the Memorial Staff, I know we are!

As the first grade students climbed off the buses and entered the school on Wednesday, it was great to see so many smiling faces.  They spent the day getting to know their new teachers and learning the routines for the upcoming school year.

Our incoming Kindergarten students participated in their screenings throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday and we are very much looking forward to having both our kindergarten and preschool students join us when they officially start on Thursday, September 4th.

Reminders...

  • Please remember to notify the office using the Absence Line at 508-242-8504 if your child is going to be late or absent.
  • Parents dropping students off late or dismissing them early must sign their child in/out in the Memorial Office.

Parent/Student Handbook - Coming Soon!
Over the summer, the principals of the Memorial, Wheelock and Dale Street School joined together to develop an Elementary Parent/Student Handbook.  The handbook will be distributed to all families in the upcoming weeks and contains PreK - 5 information consistent amongst the three buildings.  In addition, there is also an addendum for building specific information.

Please be on the lookout for additional information regarding this worthwhile initiative.

Parent Information Night (PIN)
Please mark your calendars for the Memorial School's Parent Information Night. Memorial School Blog and Thursday Packet
The Memorial School Blog will be updated weekly on Thursdays to coincide with the Thursday Packet.  For those of you new to Memorial, the electronic packet contains information and event notifications. To remain informed, please be sure to review the Thursday packet on a weekly basis.  The packet is accessible via the Memorial School website.

In closing, I would like to thank the entire staff of the Memorial School for the hard work and preparation that went into readying the school and classrooms for the first day.  I would also like to thank the families and children who welcomed me to the school.  I'm truly honored to be a part of the Memorial School community and look forward to getting to know each of you this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.

Thanks for reading.
Have a great Friday and a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
