October 16, 2014

Greetings Memorial Families,
Although it has been a short week, we sure have been busy! We hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and have been enjoying the warm temperatures.  We're hopeful that the rain will hold off and allow for outside recess! So far so good!

Help Us Grow Our Storybook Pumpkin Patch!

Our library is growing a storybook pumpkin patch, and we need your help! Decorate a pumpkin to look like one of your favorite book characters, and bring it to the library to plant in our Storybook Pumpkin Patch!

On Friday, October 10th, the staffs from Memorial, Wheelock and Dale Street spent the Professional Development Day working together.  The morning was dedicated to the Educator Evaluation process culminating with great discussions surrounding student growth and achievement.  The afternoon session included an amazing presentation by the Child Study Team (CST) leaders at each building.  During this time, the team outlined the newly revised process/forms that were developed as part of Research & Development work over the summer.

WINTER CARNIVAL 2015
SATURDAY, MARCH 14

The first meeting of the Winter Carnival Committee is fast approaching!  At this time, we have 2 open committee positions for the Winter Carnival.  Descriptions are below.  Please contact Meghan Glenn at theglenns2005@hotmail.com if you are interested or have questions.

Volunteer Coordinator:
This person will work closely with the booth committee to coordinate volunteers that will help run the games/man the ticket booths/cotton candy etc.  This person may need to contact the middle school or high school in order to gather student volunteers.

Medfield Madness/ Prize Palace Coordinator:
This person is responsible for placing orders for both the prizes offered in the prize room, and those sold in the "Medfield Madness" booth in the lobby. These positions are linked because sometimes kids don't get enough stamps to collect the prize, but are able to buy it instead.  Can be co-chaired by two people.

As always, thanks for reading.
Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,
Missy Bilsborough
Memorial Principal
